Finished Master Sword and Scabbard (Sheath) TP by chelseycosplay Finished Master Sword and Scabbard (Sheath) TP by chelseycosplay
I thought I'd show you guys a more detailed pic of the scabbard. I know I have some up of my master sword already. Someone actually asked me if the scabbard actually works? Umm...yes? hahaha I can place the sword inside it..thats sort of the point of having one right??? haha
BOTH are composed mostly of craft foam. ^_^

These look really great! Honestly I like the way your Master Sword looks better than most replicas you can buy. These often seem a bit weird to me ^^

I cut out two pieces of cardboard (front and back) then glued some craft foam onto the sides so it would have the rounded shape on the side. Then I covered it all in craft foam and began detailing.

Very gorgeously detailed and well-designed, especially considering most of it was made of craft foam. Pretty clear you put a lot of heart and soul into this one.

Keep up the good work. =)

ah thought so! awesome...I'm trying to fix up my master sword as the first time I did it ended up being rushed and wonky. Styrofoam ball is a good idea :D

Wow, flawless!
Can I ask what the blade is made out of? Is it foam as well?

Thank you! Yes, the blade is foam as well. I also used a wooden dowel rod on the inside for support.

Ahh I see. Yeah I was wondering how it would be stable if it was only foam.
What kind of foam did you use?
Sorry for all the questions - I'm trying to explore different materials people use for propmaking

It's fine ^_^ it is pretty sturdy actually. Just have to be careful with it like any other prop. The scabbard has a thick layer of cardboard on the whole inside, so that isnt just foam either. Most of these are foam, but not the actual core parts. Otherwise my swords blade would just flop around haha. I just used a roll of white craft foam, you can buy them online or at Michaels Craft Store. Cut out the shape I wanted it to be glued the edges together and made a sleeve to slide the dowelrod into. Also the handle is styrofoam. If you have any other questions feel free to message me :)
